The Flagpole

As we approach a very busy last two weeks of term we are looking forward to our College Feast Day celebrations next Thursday 8 December and our Carol Services which are a key part of our preparations for Christmas. 

During the past few weeks we have been gathering important information from members of our community to help us with our planning: 

1. Each pupil from Year 8 and above has undertaken a short survey on how they are getting on in each of their academic subjects (Year 7 will do this next term). The huge amount of information gathered will be fed back to staff over the next week and we will provide feedback on the headline figures to parents at the end of term. 
 
2. The pupils have also filled in a Digital Wellbeing survey this week. The results of this have been really interesting and next week I will be writing to you as to how we will be following up on the survey in school and how parents can further support their children at home with their on-line access and decision-making. 
 
3. We also have the Parental Questionnaire that was sent out via email on Friday 25 November. A huge thank you to all those parents who have already taken the time to respond. 

There is still time to complete the survey, here is the link, which we would ask you to complete by 9.00am on Tuesday 6 December please.  

In other news, I would like to say a huge thank you to Chris Kerrigan, our Head of English, who will be retiring at the end of the academic year. Chris has given sterling service at Princethorpe for over 20 years and many parents will have attended his popular Parents’ Book Club over this time. We will be recruiting for Chris’ successor early in the new year. 

Finally, a huge thanks to the PTA and all who supported and attended the Christmas Fair last Sunday. It was extremely well attended and there was a wonderful atmosphere around the College. I wish you and your families well in the run up to the Christmas period.
