College Runners Performed Well At ISA Midlands Cross Country

Princethorpe’s runners had an excellent outing at the Midlands Regional ISA Cross Country at Bedstone College on Wednesday 25 January. Princethorpe traditionally does well at this event and once again there were lots of top 10 finishes for the College.

For the U16 Girls, Evie Marston put in a strong performance for Princethorpe to finish in 1st place, with Ava Farren hot on her heels in 2nd, Martina Grace 4th, Kate Pomerleau 5th and Isla Lacey 10th. The U16 Boys also ran well with Ben Smith confidently finishing 1st, Felix Batty 2nd and Jesse Esler 5th.

In the U14 Girls race Rosa Davis had a good run and crossed the line in 6th place with Anabel Davis not far behind in 10th. For the U14 Boys Mark Message also ran well to finish in 2nd place with William Smith following on in 3rd and Charlie Atkins in 6th place.

Then in the U12 Girls race Issey Cleary was first across the line for Princethorpe in 3rd place while in the U12 Boys race George Moreton came 4th, Sidney Penn 6th and James Bostock 8th.

Head of Outdoor Education and PE Teacher, Will Bower, said, “It was brilliant to be back at Bedstone the rough rural terrain making it one of our favourite cross country events. As usual there were lots of excellent performances and it was great to welcome some new runners to the team. We still haven’t had the team results confirmed but we had red vest after red vest crossing the line at the front of the field.”

Many congratulations to all who took part.

Sports Kit Initialling

Any items of sports kit that require initialling during the Easter holidays can be brought into the school shop prior to Friday 24 March 2023 in a clearly named bag with a completed form attached.

If you do not have access to a printer a form may be collected from the School Shop in advance at break or lunch time. Please note all articles of clothing must be new or freshly laundered and dry, if they are to be sent to the embroiderers. This service is only available on items bought directly from the School Shop that have not been previously embroidered.

Initialling is not compulsory but is highly recommended to look professional, help reunite any lost items with the owner and is already included in the price. Initials can be a maximum of three letters and should not spell out a first name or nickname.

Items will be ready for collection from the school shop when school re-opens on Monday 17 April 2023.

If you have any queries please contact the school shop on 01926 634272 or email uniform@princethorpe.co.uk

Families Still Needed To Host Dutch Pupils - Reminder

We are looking forward to reciprocating the fantastic experience our pupils received during our four night stay with the players from Hopbel Hockey club. The return dates are from Saturday 29 April through to Wednesday 3 May.

We are still in need of a number of hosts and would be grateful if you are able to help. Please complete the form here to register your interest in hosting, there is no need to do this again if you have already been in touch with the recruitment team. More information regarding hosting is detailed on the form.

Due to requisite safeguarding checks, all adults (members of the household aged 18 years old and over) within the household must hold an enhanced DBS certificate, to be sent for by the Princethorpe Foundation, even if they currently have a DBS certificate from another employer. If you are subscribed to the DBS Update Service, please do let us know.

Please see the attached document entitled ‘Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks’ for the ID documentation required.

Many thanks for your continued support of Princethorpe Sport and we hope that you can continue this by hosting some Dutch guests in April.
