British Motor Museum Trip - Reminder

Wednesday 4 March 2020

All Year 8 pupils are invited to join the Science Department for a STEAM themed day at the British Motor Museum on Wednesday 4 March. A brief outline of what they should expect to experience is listed below:

  • Science: Science shows
  • Technology: MoD robots’ activity with RVR Robots 
  • Engineering: Engineering apprentices with remote control racing cars 
  • Art: Teacher-led activity - cut out Land Rovers 
  • Maths: LEGO Gears workshop/salt water cars tbc
  • Museum and Collection Centre - engaging with the collection 

We will leave Princethorpe College by coach at 09:00 and return by 15:30 in time for bus services home. Pupils are expected to wear full school uniform and to bring a packed lunch. The cost of the trip is £18, which covers transportation costs and the cost of the event itself. This fee will be added to your Trinity term bill.

Consent for this trip has been sent via EVOLVE. If you have yet to respond, please may we kindly ask you to do so as soon as you're able. Provision will be made at school for any Year 8 pupils who cannot or do not wish to attend.

Big Bang Fair - Reminder

Wednesday 11 March 2020

All Year 7 pupils are invited to join the Science Department for a voyage of discovery on Wednesday 11 March 2020 exploring virtual reality, medicine, marine biology, film and TV, space exploration, explosive chemistry, crime-solving, robots, computer coding, microscopic bugs, giant trucks and more at the NEC’s Big Bang Fair.

Pupils will have the opportunity to see how what they learn at schools is used by real people in real jobs. They will get the chance to hear from inspiring engineers and scientists from some of the UK’s biggest companies and find out about the opportunities available in science and engineering.

We will leave Princethorpe College by coach at 9.00am and return by 3.30pm in time for bus services home. Pupils are expected to wear full school uniform and to bring a packed lunch. There are refreshment stands at the NEC, so pupils are permitted to bring a small amount of money. The cost of the trip is £5.00 to cover transportation costs (entry tickets are free). This fee will be added to your Trinity term bill.
