Parents Reading Group

Wednesday 12 December 2018 at 7.30pm

At our November meeting we discussed The Heart’s Internal Furies by John Boyne.  All agreed that this is a moving text which addressed the impact of both homophobic prejudice and sexual repression on the lives of individuals in Ireland from 1945 to the present day.  Despite some heavy use of coincidence we found the text convincing and engaging.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 12 December in the Library at 7.30pm.  We will be discussing This Is Going To Hurt by Adam Kay.  This is a light read which has been well reviewed as an engaging reflection of the state of the NHS from the perspective of a young doctor.  Please join us whether or not you have read this book.  We always welcome newcomers and enjoy sharing a range of reading interests.
