Co-Curricular

Year 7 Forensic Science Academy

An exciting new club is starting for Year 7 pupils after the Easter holiday. During weekly training sessions Academy Trainees will learn all about different Forensic Science techniques, from fingerprinting and blood splatter analysis to footprint evidence and soil samples. As well as how to process a crime scene and even hand writing analysis.

All this will build up to a final Crime Scene Challenge on Tuesday 29 June (4.00pm to 6.00pm) where pupils will have to search the college to find evidence and process crime scenes to solve a deadly mystery that will take place at Princethorpe. Certificates will be awarded at the end of the challenge as our trainees become Princethorpe Forensics Scientists.

Interested pupils can contact me at fayeroberts@princethorpe.co.uk to express an interest and should come along to the first session on Tuesday 20 April in LF65 at lunchtime.

Well done to those who have managed to continue with their physical, volunteering and skills sections despite lockdown. Do please keep logging your hours and recording evidence. Some pupils have even signed off sections, a fantastic effort!

If you haven’t started, you should consider utilising the DofE temporary changes. DofE have provided additional options so that you can complete your award despite the pandemic
