Michaelmas Term - Sixth Form Update

Thank you to all the Sixth Form students who helped at Saturday’s Entrance Examinations Day. The feedback from prospective parents about our helpful Sixth Formers has been excellent.

Parking
The Upper Sixth parking permit holders have been exceptional recently; they have been driving slowly, with care and patience. As a reward for their exemplary behaviour, they are being treated to a legendary Princethorpe Cookie on Wednesday at break time

Lower Sixth will be allowed to apply for a permit when Upper Sixth have left in the summer.

Wednesday Games
Please remember to email Mr Collie by 9.00am on Wednesday mornings if for any reason your child is unable to do Games. If your child becomes ill during the day they must see Matron before the end of lunch.

Sixth Form Learn about Personal Finance and First Aid
Our students are currently enjoying a carousal of activities as part of their CoRE programme including two sessions of first aid and an invaluable programme of sessions which includes learning about Loans and Mortgages and Understanding Credit. These are run by professionals who are members of the Personal Finance Society.

Oxbridge Symposium
On Wednesday 16 November we were delighted to welcome eight students from Southam College, together with their Head of Year, Tom Cole, who all attended an Oxbridge Symposium here at Princethorpe College. They were joined by Princethorpe College students and various members of staff, and the purpose of the afternoon was to collaborate in subject areas to address and discuss some big intellectual questions.

We were impressed by the way that all of the students embraced the opportunity, and the level of intellectual debate was outstanding. We hope that this will have helped them prepare for the next stage of their applications to Oxford and Cambridge Universities and we wish them all the best of luck.
