Congratulations to Lower Sixth student Cam McGregor and Year 8 pupil André Onyekwe who have been selected to represent Warwickshire Athletics in the English Schools Athletics Championships. The event will take place from the 9 July 2021 to 11 July 2021 at Manchester Athletics Arena. Cam has been selected in the senior boys' 400m and André will be in the junior boys' high jump.

Mr Cassell said, "It is great that the boys' hard work in their athletics training has paid off and in a difficult year the fact they can compete in a very prestigious event in a world class arena against the best athletes in the country is an amazing achievement."

Princethorpe College now have athletics records for each age groups in the track and field championship. The records have been created from collating and checking through past results of the pupils in the college.  The link to the records can be found here

For a pupil to break a college record they must either have the result on the Power of 10 website or an accredited ESAA athletics official to be present at the event.  If anyone thinks that they have broken a record please email Mr Cassell with the details.  Pupils will have until the start of September 2021 for a record to be counted for this year.

Next academic year your pupil will be taking part in an extensive sports programme which will include sports which require them to wear a gumshield.

To support this, we have invited OPRO to come into school to fit and create custom made mouthguards. They will be visiting on Tuesday 7 September 2021 from 12.15pm–4.00pm. On that day, the OPRO dental team will take impressions of all pupils who want to be fitted and the finished mouthguards will then be delivered to your home address or school approximately 7 working days later.

It is not compulsory for the pupils to have a custom made mouth guard to participate in sport. You are welcome to purchase one from other avenues such as from your own dentist, the school shop or any sports shop. This facility with OPRO is just to make the process easier for families at the College.
