PE And Games For Michaelmas 2020 - Update

Please let me introduce myself, my name is Lee Cassell and I am the new Director of Sport for the Foundation. During these difficult times, my aim is to get the pupils safely participating in school sport again and enjoying activities with their friends.

During PE and Games lessons for the first half term, the focus will be on summer activities, such as athletics, cricket and tennis. The seniors, on a Wednesday afternoon, will follow a different programme of study, with a bigger range of activities. On the days pupils are timetabled for Games, they will come to school in their Princethorpe College PE kit and the correct footwear for their activity, it is recommended that pupils bring their college waterproofs with them. For core PE lessons and clubs after school, pupils will be required to use the changing rooms, these will be sign posted for their year group. It is very important that they only use their year group changing room.

The extra-curricular programme will focus on winter games such as rugby, netball, football and hockey. This will give all teams excellent preparation for when external sporting fixtures return. All pupils must ensure that they attend all sporting activities in the correct college kit.

Cross country club will be on a Wednesday morning at 7.30am.

During the first half term there will no inter school fixtures due to the government guidance in education and year group bubbles. However, there will be an internal Saturday morning programme for the pupils to attend and enjoy. This will focus on summer activities, athletics, cricket and tennis. Pupils will need to sign up by the deadline for the activities that they would like to participate in, more details to follow. When we are allowed to play school sports fixtures further information will be sent home; I look forward to seeing the pupils representing the college and maintaining its excellent reputation.
