Trips and Visits

Malawi 2020

Building on more than ten years of fundraising for Mary’s Meals, we have decided to step out and visit the African country where Mary’s Meals first began. Malawi, known as the warm heart of Africa is a landlocked country in south-eastern Africa. The Great Rift Valley runs through the country from north to south, and to the east of the valley lies Lake Malawi. The trip will be open to all pupils currently in years 10, 11 and 12 and numbers will be capped at 30 pupils. Year 12 pupils have already learnt about the trip and Year 10 and 11 pupils will receive some initial information during House assemblies in the week beginning Monday 8th October.

To find out more, please come to our parent and pupils’ information evening which will run from 7.00pm – 8.30pm on Thursday 18 October 2018, in the Clarkson Theatre. Full details about the trip will be given then, and we are delighted that Dominic Webb, Managing Director of Orbis Expeditions and Andrew Vincent, a trustee of Classrooms from Malawi will be joining us. Please email  rodisaacs@princethorpe.co.uk to confirm you would like to attend.

Key information

The dates of the trip are provisionally, 5 - 19 July 2020, though this will depend on flight schedules.

The estimated cost plus any extras is £2995. All food, accommodation, travel, insurance and activities are included. The only additional cost would be travel visas if required and vaccinations prior to the trip. All participants are to commit to raise an additional £300 minimum to support the classroom refurbishment project we plan to undertake at Lauderdale School.
