Review of the College Bus Services And Reminder About Bus Safety

Our review of the College bus services continues to make good progress.

The aim of the review is to optimise the services we provide for families and where possible improve routes and journey times.

We have a meeting scheduled with transport consultants, Vectare, just after half term to discuss their recommendations after which time we will be able to share revised routes and timetables with parents and proceed with bookings for current and new users for the next academic year.

Bus Safety

Following a report of pupils being questioned by a stranger in a vehicle whilst waiting for the S1 service in the Dunchurch area this week, we would ask that you speak to your child about staying safe when using the bus service and practising the following advice;

Pupils should:

  • be observant
  • not use phones when walking or standing in public
  • stay in groups where possible
  • avoid any situation which looks suspicious by, for example, crossing the road when safe to do so
  • if there is a concern, go into a shop or other public premises and ask for help
  • if there is a concern, make your way to the nearest most public place
  • report any concerns to the bus driver and to the senior person on bus duty immediately
