Prayers And Blessings For The Easter Weekend

Our wonderful Chaplaincy team have provided the following prayers and blessings for the upcoming Easter Weekend.

A prayer for Good Friday:

Today we pause and reflect on the sacrificial love of Jesus who:
Out of darkness shone light
Out of emptiness brought fullness of life
Out of despair brought hope
Out of incrimination brought truth
Out of incarceration brought freedom
Out of punishment brought freedom
As we journey through the events of Good Friday, we walk not in the darkness of sin but in the light of Easter Sunday where the triumph of your death shines forth in your resurrection. Amen.

A prayer for Easter Sunday

Heavenly Father,
We rejoice in the triumph of Jesus over the darkness of death and today celebrate his resurrection on this Easter Day. We remember our loved ones who have died and now reside in your presence. May our faith in the resurrection of your Son help us to rise above our faults and failings and live in harmony with others and with your creation. To all whom we meet today we wish Easter joy and love. Amen.
